If you’re running on a particularly old computer, you may realise that it does take a while to boot your computer. There are some ways to make your computer boot faster though, it’s very simple to do and it will help you in the long run.
To start with, this can be a great tip. This will only work if you’re using a computer with a processor which uses more than 1 core, such as Dual Core or Quad Core. If you do, that’s great. Go into the Start Menu –> Run (on Windows XP) or on Windows Vista/Windows 7, go into the Start Menu and into the small search box at the bottom. Type msconfig into it and press enter. Click the Boot navigation button, and from there you will see something that says “Number of Processors”. Change the number in this field to the amount of cores you have. That’s all you have to do! When you boot Windows, it will boot using all of your cores now instead of 1, maybe it a lot quicker.
There are some usual computer tips that will help to make your computer boot faster too. The first thing is to clear out some disk space. Delete all of the files you don’t need, and try to make your computer have as less files as possible. This will make your computer boot faster and run faster in general too. You should also uninstall any programs that haven’t been in use for a long time.
Moreover, your registry could be one of the problems making it boot slower. There are lots of tools released which will clean your registry for you to make it cleaner and more efficient, but you have to be careful with these tools – Quite a lot of them are scams. Read the reviews and other people’s opinions about the tool you’re looking at before you commit to buying it.
As people will always recommend, upgrading your computer will help it boot quicker too. If you get a nice new Quad Core processor, 4GB of RAM and a big hard drive, your computer is sure to boot up quickly. This method does require spending quite a lot of money though.

Well this is a great think to make a computer faster, because fast computer gives to facility to do your work easily and quickly. I like your post very much. Anyways keep it up andkeep continue.
I would highly suggest the program known as “TuneUp Utilities” you can get the 2009 version for <XP/Vista and the 2010 version for 7.
Also, when purchasing a new computer, make sure to look at how many bits the operating system will run at. You'll achieve better performance and overall a more stable system with a 64bit Operating System, since most processors now are all 64bit compatible. Most Intel processors have the "EM64T" technology. (Which is the 64bit)
If you've got an older computer and just want to get the latest and "greatest" operating system, make sure to look at the bits (again.) and get the x64 version if possible. Find out if your processor supports this technology by googling your processor (which you can find by clicking on Start and then Run (XP or earlier users) or just typing in dxdiag (Vista/7 users) and looking on that first screen will tell you what your processor is.
Be warned, however, that if you're upgrading from 32bit to 64bit, you will have to perform a "clean" install – which requires you to wipe your entire hard drive and start fresh. So if you don't want to have to back everything up, either purchase a secondary hard drive or a thumb drive and back up what is necessary.
Very useful tips. I didn’t know that making my computer faster will be that easy. It is true that my computer boot 1 core at a time. No wonder it takes a long time. Other tips are useful but not as easy as the first one. Great job making it simple to understand.
The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk to improve the performance of your computer. The tool identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.
I think to make your computer faster you have to clear out some disk space.just delete all of the files you don’t need, and try to make your computer have as less files as possible.

Nice post and thanks for your kind share here. But to my own experience, a simple disk defragmentation can help easily make the computer run faster and insist on regularly defragmenting my computer. When searching the Internet, I have found an article talking something about this and it is very useful. If you like, you can go here for more further information: http://ezinearticles.com/?Disk-Defragmentation—Make-Computers-Run-Faster-Soon&id=3162755. Well done!
I think computer will faster if you will keep clean your disk drives, just there is no need of the duplicate files.
Hi,
I think People who have not aware about their computer they just use it only but i think it is wrong, if you are using it then you have to know about the functionality of that thing. I read your article and it was really an interesting one.
Anyways keep it up with your valuable thoughts.
Technical inventions represent the fundamental structure of our modern world. Technology remains basic and we seem to be lost without it. One of the inventions many of us cannot do without is the PC.really great to know this tip seems very useful.thanks.
Thanks for the suggestions. My computer has definitely seemed a lot slower lately. I had heard that there were some things that could be done in the registry to speed up your machine, but I also heard that if you mess something up in the registry that your computer may become unusable!? Is this true? That’s the only reason I haven’t messed with my registry yet.
Thanks for the tips though.
This is a great article. Your point about upgrading the RAM can not be more correct. Anytime anyone asks me what they should do. I always tell them to look at upgrading their memory first. This solves a ton of problems and is also very cheap.
I am sure, if everyone follows these tips, I don’t think anyone will get spyware or a virus in the computer. If they still get one, I am sure by the help of this handy tutorial they can easily remove it.
msconfig can really good boost on PC boot up… I’ve been using for quite sometimes until I saw ccleaner… this is also good, it does that msconfig functions and also all the cleanup you’ll need on your pc.
thanks for sharing it.
