One question that I see being asked over and over again is “Why won’t my website get indexed?”. Some users make websites and, say, two weeks later, they’re still waiting for their website to be indexed by the main search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. I thought I’d make this post just to clear things up and show some very basic methods of getting your website indexed quickly.
The first step is to generate a sitemap for your website. Most webmasters already know about this, but to do so, you should use a sitemap generator website, such as xml-sitemaps.com. Once an XML sitemap has been generated, you simply upload this file to your web hosting account in the public_html folder (Most of the time). Then you need to let Google know about it. For this, you have to add your website into Google Webmaster Tools and then verify it. This is a really easy step to do which I’m sure doesn’t need explaining. Once you’ve submitted your sitemap, you can leave Google to do the rest.
The next step is to submit your website to Digg.com. Digg gets crawled really, really quickly so by submitting to it, you should find that your website also gets found really quickly. It’s very simple to do – Create a Digg account and then submit your website’s homepage through it. Within several hours, Google should find you. For now, let’s move onto even more steps which will help you get indexed quickly.
Another way you can get indexed is by simply visiting certain websites. When you visit the websites, a page will be generated which Google will crawl and index. This does help. Here is a list you can use:

Simply replace [URL] with your website’s domain name and then visit each link. This can take a bit of time but is certainly worth doing.
The final step of getting indexed quickly is to make a few comments on DoFollow, High-PageRank blog posts. You could do this on my blog, for example. These links will not only help you get indexed quicker, but will also benefit you even more in future because it should improve your rankings too. Make sure your comments are relevant though, spamming blogs will get you nowhere when you’re doing this.
In conclusion, if you want to get indexed, the tips in this blog post will definitely help you to achieve it very quickly.

Great article as I create quite a few websites and clients want instant results, however casual…
Thanks again.
Great Article I did follow some of your techniques and got indexed in 24hrs
happy now. thanks
Great list of ways to get indexed quickly. Another one you should add is the add url tool in Google, it does help get you indexed faster as well.
I’m planning to move my site from manual-operation to WordPress generation so I’m reading basically any article that talks about websites and tips. Your blog is great, thanks
Don’t forget that Tweeting a URL typically has a less than 72-index time… While they may not crawl it immediately at least that original address will be in the system of Google. URL-Shorteners ruin this trick btw.
This is exactly what i am looking for, easy to understand and very informative. Thanks for this article!
This is nice, at least one can see a long list of sites to use to get indexed quickly. I will give them a try and post here.
Thanks again
Thanks for the tips. I’m going to try those links now. Hopefully I can get indexed just by leaving this comments.
I just tried using all those link above for my site and many of them didn’t seem to create a direct link back to my site for the SEs to follow. Will those indirect links also help me to get indexed?
Many thanks for the links above, I am going to try them and, hopefully, it will help this site get indexed. Ecommerce sites seem to get indexed immediately although others don’t.
Thanks for your help
I should have done this before when I joined a contest. Sad to note, someone had his entry site indexed first. Oh well, that tough guy is just good.
Thanks for these tips. Is this applicable for all search engines like Ask and Yahoo?
Further to this, a sitemap is only really required if you are experiencing difficulties getting your pages indexed by search engines. Other than that, it’s only worth creating a visible sitemap for users.
Useful port. Google Webmaster tools is also great. It can tell you what’s wrong with various parts of your site (folders not crawlable, problem with the sitemap etc).
Very useful info. One can get his site indexed in Google almost in 24 hours by adding it to Google Webmaster central too.
My last comment I messed up. I do use your plugins on many sites and while I’m commenting to a get link like you suggested, I do like your plugins. I use the analytics one a lot.
Thanks for the tips. I have another method which has worked great for me. What I do is I take all of the urls I want indexed, go to url2rss located at http://www.catechnologiesllc.com/feed/ and turn them into an rss feed. Then I submit to RSS directories using RSS Submit (great tool worth the money) and then I go to http://www.pingler.com/ and ping my feed. Then some social bookmarking submissions, I use Bookmarking Demon but the free Onlywire service is acceptable. All this takes a few minutes but gets me indexed within a couple days. Couple of notes:
1. This only brings search engine spiders to your site. If your site content is not unique and plentiful, or your site lacks at least basic on page SEO, your chances of being indexed are slim.
2. Think outside the box. You can use this method to get your backlinks indexed. Just create an RSS feed of all urls linking to your site even if they are already indexed. Then perform the submissions and pinging. This will bring the search engine spiders to the pages linking to you and your backlinks will be indexed.
