The New iTablet to rival Apple’s iPad
Most users were expecting Apple to call their new tablet PC the iTablet. They chose not to, and now the British company X2 Computing has decided to pick up on that and make a rival product – The iTablet.
In terms of specifications, the iTablet does seem more powerful than Apple’s iPad. Due for an April release, the iTablet is going to run on Windows 7 and even has a 1.3 megapixel camera built in to enable video chatting. Another advantage over the iPad.
One of the biggest problems with the iPad is the lack of Adobe Flash support, which can be difficult if you’re trying to view websites with flash content on. Luckily, X2 Computing have managed to bring flash support into their iTablet, which is a great feature to have. Just think, you could be travelling and playing on online games websites at the same time!
The screen size of the iTablet ranges between 10.2 inches and 12.1 inches, bigger than the iPad, and claims to have multitouch, Wi-Fi, bluetooth as well as optional 3G networking. You even get a huge hard drive too – Ranging up to 250GB of space, compared to the much-smaller 64GB offered by Apple’s iPad.
Another interesting feature is that you can run programs simultaneously. With the iPad, you can only run one task at a time because of the operating system used (Which is also on the iPhone). This can make it quite difficult if you want to, for example, read your e-mails and browse the internet.
In conclusion, X2 Computing have certainly done a great deal of work to rival Apple. They’ve managed to fix every weakness that was identified with the iPad and made it much better. Everything about the specifications are much better and quicker, and running on a decent operating system like Windows 7 too, what could go wrong?

Good for them. Glad to hear someone has the name iTablet. That’s cool! The name ipad is boring-too expected really. I do not think that this Apple device will ever really rival the Kindle and the other ebook readers out due to it’s heavy weight and large size.

Now Apple has released the iPad, the clones will come in an avalanche. The funny thing is.. why didn’t the clones release before the official? Obviously they’re riding the popularity wave and using Apple’s big marketing budget instead of spending their own, but why not pre-empt and be first to market?

The Ipad looks like fun to play with, but I doubt if you can really work with it? But many people will buy it because of it look.
