Some sort of phone to air interface would have to be used somehow i guess. Will be interesting to see which mobile company will be the first to have this kind of technology. Certainly will be useful for those with speech impairment. Who knows, it could be useful for the hearing impaired too as some sort of translation into text messaging could be develop as well. There would be so many practical uses for this technology. I often think there isn't as much focus on technology for the deaf/blind or disabled as it doesn't "make as much money" which is definitely a shame. I can't wait for this to go into full production. My aunt’s deaf but she can lip read so well that we don’t have to use sign language with her, we tried video calls but its so hard coz it always lag and we end up just being frustrated.
