Recently I was asked to review TrainSignal’s “Exchange Server 2010 Training” DVD which aims to give you exact details on how to setup and maintain your own exchange server in the form of video tutorials to help you watch exactly how you do each step. Let’s take a look at it in more detail.

It includes 3 DVD’s with 40 video lessons on, giving you over 20 hours of content to watch. This is a huge amount of videos that will take you quite a while to watch but when you have seen all of the tutorials offered, you should be very confident about how to install it and how to configure it to suit your particular needs. It starts off with the basics telling you the different features of the new exchange server 2010 software and lets you know the requirements needed to install it. After that, it starts to move onto the more complex operations of an exchange server and explains, for example, how to setup SSL certificates and create recipient types. There is a video tutorial for every different feature you may need.

The amount of content on the disks is fantastic, but what about the content on the disks? The instructor on the DVD’s, J. Peter Bruzzesse, commentates exactly what is happening while you watch what he’s doing. Another good feature is that you can learn all about exchange server on the go as it comes with MP3 file versions of the lessons letting you listen to them on your iPod and also comes with PDF files if you prefer just to read about it. No matter where you are, you should still be able to learn about it so you’re ready when you want to setup your own version of exchange server 2010.

The only possible downside that I can think of is that it didn’t work so well on my Mac. I couldn’t get the videos to play due to the menu being a Windows file. However, everything played fine when I tried it on my Windows computer. Just something to bare in mind, although I’m sure that TrainSignal will fix this to allow Mac users to watch the video tutorials too at some point in time.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a great way to learn how to use exchange server 2010, this set of DVD’s is definitely worth it. After watching, you’ll know exactly what to do and won’t need any other help or guide. The price could be considered relatively high but for the amount of resources and the sheer knowledge this product will give you, this shouldn’t put you off buying it.
